Brenda Edwards has hailed Ed Sheeran a ‘beautiful soul’ for his continued support following the death of her son Jamal Edwards.

Edwards, who found fame after setting up the music platform SBTV in 2006, died on February 20 at the age of 31.

The entrepreneur helped launch the careers of some of the UK’s biggest acts, including the Bad Habits hitmaker, Dave and Jessie J.

Last month Sheeran paid a touching tribute to Edwards by bringing his ‘vision to life’ in a music video with American rapper Russ, and the Loose Women panelist hailed his moving gesture as ‘incredible.’

‘Ed is a beautiful soul,’ she said.

‘He is an amazing, phenomenal talent. I love him and his whole family to the bone.’

‘We are close, the families are close, and he has been there and offered me support,’ she added to The Sun.

Earlier this month, an inquest into the death of Edwards ruled that he died from a cardiac arrest after taking cocaine and drinking.

The late star was found with three small snap bags with the remnants of white powder after he collapsed at the home of his mother Brenda in West London.

Toxicology tests found cocaine and alcohol in his system, as well as MDMA in his urine but not his blood, indicating that he had taken the drug recently but not on the night of his death.

To celebrate her son on what would have been his 32nd birthday, Brenda is hosting a special cookup at Studio 338 in London on Wednesday August 24.

‘Every year I have celebrated my baby’s birthday and this year will be no exception, it’s gonna be a very memorable day celebrating the life of Jamal!’ she penned.
