Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker offered his best advice for this year’s contestants as they dust off their dancing shoes.
Dan, 45, competed in Strictly last year alongside partner Nadiya Bychkova, 32, with the pair making it all the week to the quarter-finals.
They were a huge hit with fans, in a series that was particularly well-loved amongst viewers, and saw Rose Ayling-Ellis take home the glitterball with partner Giovanni Pernice.
As Strictly fever is well and truly brewing ahead of its milestone 20th series, set to begin in a few weeks, Dan has revealed a pretty helpful piece of advice, while making a cheeky jibe at judge Craig Revel Horwood in the process.
Appearing on Lorraine this morning to talk about his upcoming Channel 5 documentary, Digging for Treasure, Dan reflected on his experience in the ballroom.
‘I did love it, and I spent time getting to know Nadiya Bychkova – two time world champion, always have to refer to her like that – and she was fantastic.

‘I’m quite a confident person but I’ve never been confident on the dance floor and she showed me that I could enjoy it, that other people would enjoy it, and I just loved learning from her, she was brilliant.
‘There’s a whole new bunch of people going in this year, and the one thing we had throughout it, I remember we said it right at the start, and we just said we’re going to enjoy it as much as we can, not worry about the stuff that happens in the background and the stuff that gets written in the papers.

‘The worst thing that happens is when you come out of Strictly and say, “I wish I’d enjoyed it more at the time,” because you’re part of the biggest show on TV. Just embrace it and have a bit of fun.’
He cheekily added: ‘Trust your partner, ignore Craig!’

This comes after Dan left Matt Goss feeling ‘very very nervous’ as he revealed the ‘most uncomfortable’ part of his Strictly stint.
Chatting on 5 News, Matt asked Dan to delve further into some of the notes he’d been giving him from his time last year.

The 80s hitmaker said: ‘In regards to you doing it, you told me we’d have to do a dance before the photoshoot?’
‘Oh yes, I was saying sometimes before you actually do the show, you’re in front of the cameras and they just ask you to dance.

‘Essentially, just trust your professional,’ he said. ‘You know when you see somebody who’s brilliant at what they do, and you can say, okay, I’m safe in your arms, just tell me what to do and I’ll try and soak up as much as I can.’
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
