Tasha Ghouri has confirmed she has ‘great friendships’ with Luca Bish and Dami Hope after they shared some tense moments in the Love Island villa.

Tasha, 24, finished in fourth place on this year’s edition of the ITV2 show alongside boyfriend Andrew Le Page, 27.

The pair shared their ups and downs throughout the villa but forged a strong bond and are now enjoying life together as a couple back in the UK.

Tasha, who was the programme’s first-ever Deaf contestant also had some very emotional moments in the villa, including during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.

The game saw Luca, 23, and Dami, 26, both pie Tasha after they had accused her of not having good intentions towards Andrew – who she was coupled up with.

The boys did apologise to Tasha shortly afterwards, but their actions sparked 1,500 Ofcom complaints.

Now, Tasha herself has addressed the tensions raised with the pair during the show and admitted she feels ‘stronger’ after the situation during an interview with Metro.co.uk.

When asked her thoughts on the row, she explained: ‘It’s crazy how the public’s so up and down with views and ideas. I think my time was quite up and down, but that’s just how the show works. Everyone’s going to have an opinion, regardless.

‘The situation [with Luca and Dami] that happened, it’s happened now. I’ve still got great friendships, Luca, and Dami, and it’s one of those situations where, in the moment, things can get intense, it does happen.’

She went on to note how a show like Love Island ‘is not always going to be positive’ and continued: ‘Of course, they are going to be the downs as well, and all of us are now just looking forward and not looking back anymore.

‘That’s what’s so nice, that everyone’s just moving on a positive level and whatever has happened has happened, and you can’t change that.

‘For me, in that situation, it’s made me stronger, it’s made me tougher inside. So that’s what I can take away from that.’

Tasha told us she appreciated the public ‘having her back’ on the situation before addressing some other tearful moments, such as when she was voted in the bottom three several times.

‘Things do get hard and I’m quite an emotional person – I do wear my heart on my sleeve.

‘It’s just how I am and like obviously add to situations being bottom three a good four times.’

She found it particularly difficult due to not being able to ‘reach out to the outside world and say how I was feeling’.

Dami himself recently addressed accusations he and Luca ‘bullied’ Tasha during the ITV2 show.

He admitted he ‘genuinely don’t feel like I was bullying, and I have taken accountability for it’.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the senior microbiologist added: ‘I do know there was a point where our jokes…We were holding onto past things [and] kept bringing it up. There was a point where it was boring.

‘And as soon as the Snog, Marry, Pie thing happened, I was genuinely apologetic and I did apologise to Tasha and I feel like my actions since my apology have been concrete and straight to the point.

‘I’ve actually been so supportive, and I’ve been there for her, and we’re actually like the best of friends now. Moving forward, I have taken accountability for it, and we’re all in a better place.’

Love Island is available to stream on ITV Hub.
