A music video for Britney Spears and Sir Elton John’s chart-topping duet Hold Me Closer is reportedly in the works.

The massive collaboration was released on Friday after weeks of speculation, and didn’t disappoint as it shot up the streaming charts around the world.

A revamp of Sir Elton’s 1971 hit Tiny Dancer, Hold Me Closer represents Britney’s first release in six years, and fans – including major celebrities – have been absolutely loving it.

And it seems there’s more to come from the two musical icons, with a music video reportedly on the way.

According to TMZ, fans will indeed be treated to a music video for the brand-new hit – but the details are being kept tightly under wraps.

It’s not even known whether Sir Elton and Britney will appear in it, but regardless, judging from both musicians’ back catalogue of jaw-dropping videos, it won’t disappoint.

The source reportedly also told the outlet there’s no plans as of yet for Britney to release new music, or join Sir Elton on stage to perform the track during his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

But, for now, fans are more than happy to just have new music from the Everytime legend.

Britney herself is among those celebrating the success of her return to music, previously admitting she was ‘overwhelmed’ by the response.

On Friday, hours after Hold Me Closer’s release, Britney shared her joy with fans with a new video – taken from the bathtub – where she said she was having ‘the best day ever.’

Doing what appeared to be a British accent, the star began by addressing Sir Elton directly in thevideo.

‘Hello Sir Elton John, we are like, number one in 40 countries,’ she gushed.

She then paused just slightly before shouting: ‘HOLY S***!’

‘I’m in the tub right now and I’m about to go have the best day ever! And I hope you’re well,’ she finished, signing off with a wink.

Sir Elton also opened up about working with the former teen idol as she gets to grips with life after the 13-year conservatorship, ad said he and his team had been ‘holding her hand’ all the way through.

‘We had to get her to approve what she did,’ he said, going on to describe her as ‘broken.’

‘She’s been away so long – there’s a lot of fear there because she’s been betrayed so many times and she hasn’t really been in the public eye officially for so long.

‘We’ve been holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be alright.’

He said he hoped the track would be a big hit to ‘give her so much more confidence than she’s got already and she will realise that people actually love her and care for her and want her to be happy.

‘That’s all anybody in their right mind would want after she went through such a traumatic time.’
