Caroline Flack’s family wept as they watched a concert in her memory, held earlier this summer.

Flackstock Festival took place in Reading on 25 July and saw friends and family of former Love Island presenter Flack gather to share stories and music in celebration of her life.

The TV star tragically died by suicide in February 2020 at the age of 40, with the entertainment world still reeling from her death years later.

Flackstock Festival was organised by her family, which includes mum Christine, who broke into tears at one particular moment of the event.

A documentary on the festival aired on Sky on Sunday night, and one particularly devastating moment saw X Factor star Lucie Jones take to the stage to sing an emotional rendition of She Used To Be Mine.

The song’s impact was was felt even more deeply by the fact that Jones had sung the same song at Flack’s funeral, two years prior.

In the documentary, cameras panned to Flack’s mother, who was supported by friends as she wept watching the powerful performance.

Alongside Jones’ voice, a video montage of Flack played on the screen in the background, with the TV icon seen enjoying time with friends and family.

The moment was bittersweet, with laughter also a central feature of the festival in celebration of Flack’s life.

Taking to the stage after Jones’ emotive track, close friend and fellow presenter Dermot O’Leary said: ‘Caroline would have loved this… but she wouldn’t be here yet, she’d still be in traffic.’

Viewers of the documentary were also incredibly moved by the documentary, with fans flocking to Twitter to share their thoughts, many paying tribute to the Love Island star.

‘They should do it every year, excellent tribute,’ one Twitter user wrote.

Another admitted they were ‘in tears’ at the documentary, agreeing: ‘Hope it’s repeated next year.’

‘Absolutely amazing and well done to everyone involved for creating something in Caroline’s memory she would have loved and for raising so much money for charity,’ another emotional fan wrote.

They urged people to remember to ‘be kind.’

In a bid to raise awareness of mental health issues, celebrity performers including Ronan Keating and Tom Grennan took to the stage at the event for live music and comedy.

The Masked Singer’s Joel Dommett, Fleur East, Professor Green, Natalie Imbruglia, and Dermot O’Leary were among those in the line-up.

The Xtra Factor host’s mum Christine said she wanted to put on the event because ‘singing, dancing and most of all laughing’ were things her daughter loved to do the most.
