Married At First Sight UK is back, and we’re ready to see the inevitable drama unfold.

Last year the hit reality show was E4’s highest rating non-scripted programme ever as well as the third most streamed show on All 4.

And judging by Monday night’s debut, Channel 4 bosses weren’t lying when they teased it’ll be ‘bigger and more dramatic than ever’.

The latest line-up of 16 singles has been announced and includes two same-sex couples, one of which is the show’s first-ever lesbian couple.

Relationship experts Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson, and Charlene Douglas also returned to the series to guide the newlyweds through the experience.

Where is Married At First Sight UK filmed?

There have been several wedding locations used throughout the series.

But this year, the MAFS 2022 cast have been enjoying their stay at the luxurious Kalinya Estate in Bargo, New South Wales.

The grand property sits on five acres in the state’s Southern Highlands.

Last year, the series was located in Eastwell Manor Ashford, Kent.

The 16th-century country house is every bit as picturesque as it looks on past seasons of MAFS – particularly with its dramatic, nature-covered exterior – making it an ideal choice for brides and grooms who want the full fairytale.

Series seven will consist of 30 episodes (Picture: Channel 4)

The stunning surroundings don’t always save the E4 show’s couples – but at least the wedding photos look nice.

The official plot summary of the series reads: ‘The bold social experiment where single people, matched by experts, marry total strangers, who they meet for the very first time on their wedding day.’

Once married, the newlyweds head off on their honeymoon before moving in together.

Relationships will be put under the microscope by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties, as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.

All this will lead to a dramatic series finale, where each couple must decide if they will recommit to their partner or go their separate ways.

Married At First Sight UK returns to E4 at 9pm on Monday, August 29
