Presenter and property expert Sarah Beeny has revealed she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The TV personality, 50, who previously opened up about her mother’s battle with the disease, said she has begun a course of chemotherapy.

Sarah, who presents shows including Help! My House Is Falling Down and Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country, told The Telegraph that she had ‘a little bit of a breakdown’ after receiving the news in a hospital consultation room.

In the interview, the presenter praised being in a ‘family that talks’ about her condition and even enlisted them to help cut her hair following her first round of treatment.

So who is Sarah Beeny, who is her husband and how long have they been together?

She has a massive portfolio of reality TV series under her belt, most notably Property Ladder, Property Snakes and Ladders, Double Your House For Half The Money, and now, Sarah Beeny’s New Life In The Country.

Sarah is also a regular columnist in some of the UK’s biggest national newspapers and magazines.

Who is Sarah Beeny’s husband?

Sarah Beeny is married to Graham Swift, and the pair are business partners as well as husband and wife.

They were set up on a blind date and fell wildly in love – and Sarah’s brother, Diccon, is in fact married to Graham’s sister, Caroline.

Sarah told The Sun about how they met saying Diccon told her: ‘I’ve got a new girlfriend and you’d really like her brother.’

When Diccon and Caroline got married, Sarah recalled thinking it was ‘really weird’ that she and her boyfriend were ‘kind of brother and sister’.

Billy, 17, is the eldest, followed by Charlie, 15, Raffy, 13, and Laurie, 12.

Sarah has been open and honest with her sons about her diagnosis, even letting them cut her hair following her first chemotherapy treatment.

‘To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend getting four teenage boys to cut off your hair,’ she joked to The Telegraph.

‘Graham was trying to cut it nicely, but the boys – well, they’re not going to be famous hairdressers.

‘They said I looked like Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones – I mean, she’s beautiful so I was sort of flattered, but my hair is now in some places about a centimetre long and in some places it’s an inch long.’

Channel 4 property series New Life In The Country saw Sarah and her family swap the busy London life for a brand new start in the Somerset countryside.

First airing in 2020, Sarah, her husband Graham, and their four children set about to refurbish a semi-derelict former dairy farm and transform it into the modern home of their dreams.
