Get your pom-poms ready – another Bring It On film is coming, but it might not be quite what you expect.
The latest installment of the film, Bring It On: Cheer Or Die, will be the first horror film in the franchise.
The seventh film in the series will come to Syfy in autumn 2022 according to reports, and first-look images from the film give fans an insight into the darkness that will unfold.
Missi Pyle, Kerri Medders, and Tiera Skovbye will star in the highly anticipated film, and these images show the actors bringing their best high school cheer to the big screen.
However, all is not as peppy as it seems as one still shows Kerri’s character brandishing a metal bar in a darkened room in classic final girl fashion commonly seen in slasher films.
The official synopsis for the film reveals it will follow a cheerleading squad who ‘plan to have a secret practice at a nearby abandoned school on Halloween takes a terrifying turn when their teammates begin disappearing one by one.’

The film is written by Rebekah McKendry and Dana Schwartz from a story by Alyson Fouse and will be executive produced by Beacon Pictures partners Armyan Bernstein and Charlie Lyons.
Tony Gonzalez will return to the franchise as the choreographer as well as a co-producer alongside Griff Furst and C. Eve Stewart.
Glenn Ross, general manager and executive vice president for Universal 1440 Entertainment, said the company is excited to team up with Syfy to release another Bring It On film.
‘Featuring a fresh take on the franchise’s historically comedic films, this next chapter showcases a multi-talented diverse cast and will entertain long-time Bring It On movie fans as well as open the doors to the legion of fans who enjoy thrillers,’ he continued.
The first Bring It On film was released in 2000 starring Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Jesse Bradford, and Gabrielle Union, following a cheerleading troupe as they prepare for a national competition.
It has since spawned a further five direct-to-video sequels and a loosely-based musical adaptation with music by Tom Kitt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
