The Crown has reportedly cast 3 new stars to play Prince William and Kate Middleton as they gear up to start work on season 6.

The Netflix series is due to begin filming its upcoming sixth season in just a matter of weeks.

But it looked to be in trouble after it was claimed last month the show still hadn’t found someone to play a young Prince William.

Luckily, it’s now been reported that The Crown has found not one, but two, actors ready to get stuck into the major role.

Rufus Kampa will portray a 15-year-old William, who is struggling with his grief after the loss of his mother, Princess Diana, who tragically died in 1997.

Two new stars have also been reportedly cast as William and Kate who will head off to the University of St Andrews, where they famously met.

According to Deadline, Ed McVey will portray William in his later teen and early adult years, while a university-age Kate Middleton will be portrayed by Meg Bellamy.

This will mark TV debuts for all three new cast members set to appear.

The trio have a list of credentials elsewhere, with Kampa having a long list of stage credits to his name.

He made his debut in the West End back in 2019, playing the title role in Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 & 3/4s: The Musical, and has also performed in an extensive array of productions away from London’s famous theatre district.

Elsewhere, McVey, who will play the third-in-line to the throne into his adult years will have plot lines including meeting Middleton, as well as how he managed to woo her.

The pair famously married back in April 2011, and have three children together, George, Charlotte and Louis.

Meanwhile, fans still haven’t yet got to see the fifth season of The Crown, which will appear on the streaming service later this year.
