Sir Tom Jones set to perform emotional tribute to late wife during new series of The Voice UK-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

Anne-Marie has revealed she ‘walked off’ The Voice UK set in tears because she found Sir Tom Jones’ tribute to his late wife ’emotional.’
The popstar, who won the ITV series last year with Craig Eddie, is back as a coach, along with the Sex Bomb singer, Olly Murs and will.i.am.
Ahead of the launch of the singing competition series, which sees wannabe stars perform a blind audition, the 31-year-old revealed there would be an extra special show from Sir Tom Jones.
The Rockabye singer said the Welsh icon will sing track Crumble, which is a tribute to his late wife.
Sir Tom tragically lost his wife Linda Trenchard in 2016 when she died of lung cancer at the age of 75.
The It’s Not Unusual singer married Trenchard in 1957, when they were both 16, and they remained together for nearly six decades.
Speaking to the Daily Star and other press about the emotional moment, Anne-Marie said: ‘Tom sang one of his songs [for his wife] called Crumble and I had to walk off.

‘Not because it was bad because it was so emotional, this is a testament to him and why he’s been able to stay around so long because he feels it.
‘Every word he says and every song he releases is because he means it and he was singing that song and he said this is to my wife and it f*****d me up.’

Olly added: ‘When you see someone who loves his wife so much you could see the pain.’
The new series of The Voice UK will feature a brand new element added to the format called The Callbacks.

This will see contestants who made it through the Blind Auditions battle it out against each other in the hope that they’ll earn themselves a spot in the semi-final stage of the contest.
The eventual winner will secure a recording contract with Universal’s label UMOD.
The Voice UK returns Saturday, September 3 on ITV.
