The Rings of Power is an epic fantasy drama costing a reported $1billion (£868million) over five seasons, while Kath & Kim is an irreverent Australian sitcom, but they have more in common than meets the eye.
The Lord of the Rings prequel has delighted JRR Tolkein fans as they travelled back to the Second Age of Middle Earth, complete with hobbits and elves.
Ahead of the launch of the mega Amazon Prime series, the brainchild of showrunners JD Payne and Patrick McKay, an intro dropped showcasing various cast members, including Sir Lenny Henry and Morfydd Clark.
Each actor was introduced one by one over a black background, which is very similar to the opening credits of Kath & Kim.
Fans flocked to Twitter to call out the comparison, as well as make a hilarious mash-up video which saw The Rings of Power orchestral music swapped for the comedy’s theme tune.
One viewer wrote: ‘Anyone else get Kath and Kim vibes from this LOTR Rings of Power Intro? I did. So I made it.’
