Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu suggested she and Davide Sanclimenti could be the next Love Island couple to walk down the aisle and start a family.

The loved-up pair – who won the ITV2 dating show over summer – have seen their romance continue to blossom, and they could be ready to take their relationship to the next level.

Chatting to Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughy on Monday’s episode of This Morning, the couple were told about how the show has led to four marriages and eight babies so far.

Ekin-Su seemed surprised by the stat as she turned to her man and asked if he knew, and she quipped: ‘Maybe we’ll be the next one!’

Davide, 27, and Ekin-Su, 28, captured the hearts of the nation during their time in the villa as they dealt with ups and downs en route to a landslide win.

However, the couple have claimed they actually ‘forgot’ they were on television at various times throughout the summer, instead choosing to focus on their own journey.

‘We, at some points, forgot it was a TV show. I was like, “We’ve got mics on, and there’s cameras”. When it hit us was when they said the finals were coming up,’ she admitted.

‘It’s like, what do you mean the finals were coming up? We’re happy, we’ve got each other so that’s all that matters. We were actually rooting for other people to win. We didn’t really mind! This was the prize, having each other.’

For Ekin-Su, she was happy to turn to reality TV in her search for love after a series of disappointing experiences with online dating and other relationships.

Asked what her parents thought of her decision, she explained: ‘My mum and my dad, they know how much I struggled with finding the man of my dreams.

‘I’ve had such trouble in the past with relationships, it’s always been toxic or just someone who hasn’t treated me well. None of these dating apps worked for me…

‘I thought I’m gonna go on a show which is very successful and has proven to people that you can find love, and you see them in the flesh.’

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
