Birds Of A Feather actress Lesley Joseph is the latest contestant to be eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef after serving up ‘shredded’ and ‘pink-looking’ chicken.
The star was ‘mortified’ by her efforts and accepted that it was her time to go after judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace delivered their verdict.
For the last round of Tuesday night’s semi-final, Lesley presented a chicken curry spiced with ginger and chili and served with boiled rice.
But the process was far from plain sailing and she noticed that her meat wasn’t cooked, so in an attempt to save her dish, she began to tear it off the bone.
‘It looks as though you tried taking the meat of the bone and then stopped taking the meat off the bone?’ John noted while critiquing the meal.
‘Well, it didn’t cook when I thought it was going to cook and then I don’t know what happened, but something went wrong,’ Lesley admitted.

‘The chicken is shredded and it looks a bit pink and some of your rice is not cooked,’ he continued.
Agreeing with his co-star, Gregg, added: ‘It’s not right. This sauce is too watery and your major problem here now is the presentation of this chicken. You can do a lot, lot better than this. You must be disappointed.’
‘Embarrassed, mortified,’ Lesley told the camera following their responses. ‘It was a disaster.’

After sampling all the dishes from the remaining celebrities, John and Gregg opted to send Lesley home.
And, speaking after being kicked out of the competition, she sighed a breath of relief.

‘Oh, thank god,’ Lesley said. ‘I’m quite relieved really. It’s been a fantastic competition; I’ve absolutely loved it, but I know it’s time for me to go, today was an absolute disaster.’
Celebrity MasterChef continues on Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
