Primark fans outraged over ‘sneaky’ 60% price hikes that they only discover at the tills
PRIMARK fans have taken to social media to dub the shop as ‘sneaky’ after items of its popular clothes have rapidly risen in price.
On social media people have shown videos of themself peeling stickers off Primark items of clothing and revealing the original price underneath.

Identical jogging bottoms have increased in price from £12 to £14 – an increase of £40 percent – and fishnet tights from £2.50 to £4 – an increase of 60 percent.
“It’s unbelievable,” said one person.
You’ve got some explaining to do. Cost of living b*****,” wrote one person, spotting the difference in price.
Another person said she only realised when she reached the till. “Sort yourself out,” she said, explaining the cargo trousers she was buying had increased in price by £1.

But others thought it was totally fair, explaining it was called “repricing” and a likely result of the cost of living crisis.
A person who claimed they worked in Primark said: “We have a whole team of people who remove the old tags and put stickers with new prices on the products. They are doing this until October.”
Speaking on a Facebook fan page for Primark a woman wrote: “I went shopping in Primark today and some of the prices had increased but still had the old price on the tag.
“One item said £1 but charged £1.50.

“I know Primark is cheap but it’s wrong to charge more than the tag price.”
Primark said in April costs would increase in “autumn and winter”.
The company said: “Looking further ahead, inflationary pressures are such that we are unable to offset them all with cost savings, and so Primark will implement selective price increases across some of the autumn/winter stock.
“However, we are committed to ensuring our price leadership and everyday affordability, especially in this environment of greater economic uncertainty.”
A spokeswoman for the store told Fabulous today: “We know how important our great value pricing is to our customers, now more than ever.
“This has not changed: we are more committed than ever to offering the very best value on the high street. Like every retailer, we have had to respond to rising costs, and announced in April that we would be bringing in some price increases across a selection of our autumn/winter ranges, some of which are now arriving into stores.
“We have also announced that we are protecting prices on more than a thousand of our essential kids’ products so that we can help family finances go further amid the rising cost of living.

“Where there have been price changes, we’re working hard to make this process as seamless as possible but know there have been some instances where labels on products have not been updated to reflect the new prices, which appears to be the case in these instances.
