BBC One suspends regular programming following news of Queen under medical supervision-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

BBC One has suspended its regular programming following the news that the Queen is under medical supervision.
Today, it was announced by Buckingham Palace that doctors are concerned for the health of Queen Elizabeth II.
BBC One has since paused its usual programmes to air a news special, while the 96-year-old monarch remains at her residence at Balmoral.
According to the broadcaster’s TV schedule, BBC News at Six is due to air in its usual slot.
Meanwhile, the shows that were due to air on BBC One are said to have moved over to BBC Two instead, with Doctors currently being shown, followed by Money For Nothing.
A statement released by the Palace today read: ‘Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

‘The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral.’
Several celebrities have spoken out to give the Queen their well-wishes, including Piers Morgan and Martin Lewis.
‘I can’t even imagine Britain without this Queen. Very unsettling day,’ Morgan wrote, while Lord Alan Sugar tweeted: ‘Sorry to hear the breaking news that Her Majesty the Queen is now under doctor supervision. I am sure the whole nation will join me in wishing her well for a speedy recovery.’
Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker said the news was ‘very worrying’, while financial expert Martin Lewis wrote: ‘Never thought I’d be interrupted in an interview about the health of the Queen. Wishing her well.’

Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle interrupted a session of the Commons to tell MPs: ‘I know I speak on behalf of the entire House when I say that we send our best wishes to Her Majesty the Queen and that she and the royal family are in our thoughts and prayers at this moment.’
New prime minister Liz Truss said: ‘The whole country will be deeply concerned by the news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime.
‘My thoughts – and the thoughts of people across our United Kingdom – are with Her Majesty The Queen and her family at this time.’
Members of the royal family have travelled to Balmoral to be with the Queen, including Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, has also gone to be with his grandmother, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also travelling to Scotland to join the rest of the royal family.
The latest update on the Queen’s health coincided with the airing of Loose Women, which airs on ITV from 12.30pm until 1.30pm on weekdays.
However, viewers were left confused by the fact that the programme continued airing despite the news breaking about the monarch being under medical supervision.
‘Seems a little insensitive from ITV to not put #LooseWomen on hold over the news about the Queen,’ one person tweeted.
‘Take this off air, Her Majesty’s taken a bad turn … #LooseWomen,’ another demanded.
