What does the winner of The Voice UK get and who won last year?-Malvika Padin-Entertainment – Metro

The famous spinning red chairs have taken over our screens as The Voice UK is back for its 11th series.

Last week’s series launch episode saw our four fan-favourite coaches – Olly Murs, Sir Tom Jones, Anne-Marie and will.i.am  – return as aspiring artists try to impress impress them enough to turn around.

And one of the autionees will go on to win the series title.

But what does the winner get, and who won the ITV singing competition last time?

Here is everything you need to know.

What does the winner of The Voice UK get?

The winner of The Voice UK gets a record deal with Polydor Records alongside a chance to release their debut single.

Previously, winners of the singing content would win a cash prize of £100,000.

However, the cash prize was scrapped after the show moved from BBC to ITV in 2017.

Who won The Voice UK 2021?

Scottish musician Craig Eddie was the winner of The Voice UK 2021.

Eddie, a full-time musician from Falkirk, Scotland, represented Team Anne-Marie, who was coaching on the show for the first time last year.

His single Come Waste My Time, was the first ever self-written winner’s song on the show and has shot up the iTunes chart after his victory in March 2021.

Speaking after his win, Eddie said that his ‘head is still in the clouds’, adding that it was best he’d ever felt in his life.
