Kate Garraway dubbed Prince William and Harry’s reunion a touching moment as they viewed tributes to their late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty died peacefully aged 96 surrounded by the royal family at Balmoral on Thursday September 8.
The grieving brothers – who were joined by their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle – were consoled by well-wishers when they put on a united front during a mammoth walkabout outside Windsor Castle on the day their father was proclaimed King.
William, the new Prince of Wales, and the Duke of Sussex have a well-documented troubled relationship, but their differences were put to one side as they came together to meet the crowds.
It was reported that the future king extended the olive branch to his brother, with a royal source saying he ‘thought it was an important show of unity at an incredibly difficult time for the family’.
During Sunday’s special edition of Good Morning Britain, the 55-year-old broadcaster was joined by Royal photographer Chris Jackson and Royal commentator Emily Andrews.

When asked what she thought about the brother’s reunion, Andrews said: ‘I thought it was incredible for William and Harry to come out and be so assured and to meet the public and to share in their grief, because one does have to wonder as well whether this might bring back memories of the death of their mother.’
‘I was wondering that, there’s potential triggering isn’t there?’ Garraway replied.
‘The rawness of that grief for whom William said in his statement, the Queen was absolutely there with him through those darkest days.
‘And so to be there thinking about her passing… I mean very very poignant moments.’
