Sunday Brunch fans have been left disappointed after switching on Channel 4 and seeing that the show has been cancelled today, three days after Queen Elizabeth II’s death.
The beloved weekend programme, fronted by Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy, has instead been replaced by the 2017 film A Dog’s Purpose, starring Britt Robertson and Dennis Quaid.
At 11.20am, an episode of A Place In The Sun will air, with a repeat of Jamie’s One-Pan Wonders scheduled to follow.
It has yet to be confirmed whether the programme will return next Sunday and presenters Rimmer and Lovejoy have yet to comment publicly on the changes.
Naturally, viewers were baffled by Sunday Brunch’s no show on their screens and rushed to social media in their confusion.
‘I can accept the football being cancelled but @SundayBrunchC4 not being on is a step too far!’ wrote one.

‘Assuming @SundayBrunchC4 is off today due to the Queen’s death?’ another asked.
A third quizzed: ‘Sunday Brunch errr??? Is it not on today??? What’s goin on?? Is my Sunday morning routine ruined??’
Sunday Brunch’s unexpected cancellation comes after the network, along with BBC One and ITV, continue to make changes to their regular programming schedules following the death of the Queen.
The monarch died peacefully at Balmoral aged 96 on Thursday, hours after it was learned that she was under medical supervision.
On Friday, Channel 4 launched the new series of Gogglebox as planned, with the broadcaster saying it would bring a ‘valuable sense of continuity’ for many of their viewers.

Channel 4 added that it had made ‘significant changes’ to its schedule in the wake of the Queen’s death but that its purpose was to offer an ‘alternative’ for viewers which it feels is ‘particularly important at times like this’.
The Last Leg was meant to follow Gogglebox, but the show’s presenter Adam Hills announced they had cancelled the episode as it ‘didn’t feel right’.
Sunday Brunch usually airs Sundays at 9.30am on Channel 4.
