The Masked Dancer fans are convinced that Steph McGovern is underneath the Tomato Sauce costume.

Tomato Sauce took to the stage to perform during the latest episode of the ITV competition show, which eventually saw Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page unveiled as Pig.

Ahead of their performance, a series of clues were revealed, including that the concealed celebrity is a ‘staple at mealtimes’, a potential nod to Steph’s Packed Lunch.

For their routine, Tomato Sauce danced to B*Witched’s C’est La Vie and showed off their Irish dancing skills.

And it wasn’t long before viewers shared their suspicions on social media that Steph is behind the guise, with one writing: ‘The only #MaskedDancer I know is Steph McGovern as Tomato Sauce. No real solid idea of any others.’

‘Tomato sauce is Steph McGovern,’ added another. ‘Sure of it!!!’

Happy #StPatricksDay

Today to open the show I danced with the fabulous team from the Kelly Hendry School of Irish Dancing…..

(Admittedly I look like their fat auntie who gets up drunk thinking she can still dance…..but hey hoo! 🤣) @PackedLunchC4 pic.twitter.com/Uj2E9VqxSs

Steph has hosted her own TV show on Channel 4, Steph’s Packed Lunch, since its launch in 2020.

Before then, she appeared on BBC programmes such as Watchdog and Have I Got News For You.

Steph is also a former champion Irish dancer and still often attends international competitions, where she helps to coach dancers.

Last year, she showed off her dancing skills live on television in celebration of St Patrick’s Day.

Basically, all the clues are pointing to Steph. Could it be her?

Last month, Steph revealed she turned down the chance to feature on this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.

She previously revealed that she’s been asked ‘a couple of times’ to feature on the flagship programme, but couldn’t due to the launch of her daytime programme.

However, while bosses were hoping to get her as part of the billing again this year, she still turned them down.

Speaking out on the decision, she told fans who she’s throwing her support behind this year, her friend Helen Skelton.

She told Hello!: ’I think it’s a brilliant show. And I’ve got some friends on it again this year, including Helen Skelton, who I’m really pleased is doing it.

‘But it’s just not the right time at the moment. I’ve got my show five days a week, so I’d have to train every evening and it wouldn’t be fair on my little girl. She’s so young and I don’t want to miss anything.’

The Masked Dancer continues on Saturday at 6.30pm on ITV.
