I love designer bags, I spent £15k on a Birkin I can carry my baby’s nappies in & am buying her a Dior for her birthday

A MODEL mum has revealed her big love of designer handbags, before splashing out on an eyewatering £15K to add to her growing collection.

Amy Neville has over 50 luxury handbags and plans to eventually hand them all down to her baby daughter Harper – but not before she buys her a Dior one of her own for her first birthday.

In the second episode of Second Hand for Fifty Grand, viewers were introduced to businesswoman and mum-of-one Amy.

Amy is the proud mum of baby girl Harper and was looking for a classic Hermes or Birken bag – but she needed one that would be “baby-proof” and that could even fit her daughters’ things, including nappies, in.

So she turned to luxury second hand dealers Xupes – in particular their handbag connoisseur Reece.

She told him: “I’ve got a lot of Chanel, Dior, Gucci or, but I do want a Hermes or a Birkin but obviously being a mum, I need something that is baby-proof.

“I think [I want] black and gold – something that can go with everything in the summer, and I’m travelling a lot this year.

“I love small bags but with babies, it’s just not practical.”

Reece took the mission very seriously and viewers saw how he tracked down both styles of sought after bag – with a price tag that would make most people’s jaws drop.

The Hermes design cost a whopping £10k, while the Birkin was even more expensive at £15k.

After some debate – and even asking for her daughter’s input – Amy eventually opted for the Birkin and happily handed over the cash.

She said: “I think the Birkin and the size is probably better for every day and baby.

“With Harper, I have to carry so much stuff with me.”
