It’s all water under the bridge (for now).

It looked like it was all over for Duka Cav and Whitney Hughes but, fortunately, the pair have been able to kiss and make up.

The Married At First Sight UK couple have had their fair share of ups and downs during the short time they’ve known each other, which ultimately led to Duka moving into the apartment on his own, with Whitney nowhere to be seen.

Since their first day together, Whitney has made it clear that she was less than impressed with Duka, but things really came to a head when she lost her wedding ring while on safari in South Africa, and rejected his offer to get a replacement.

After moving into the apartment alone, Duka was despondent, but remained hopeful that a reconciliation would happen – and he had every reason to.

Monday night’s episode saw the newlyweds finally sit down for a honest chat, with Duka quickly becoming tearful and offering his wife an apology.

‘Any bad feelings, anything I’ve said that’s put you on edge, I wholeheartedly apologise. I’ve wanted nothing but the best for you,’ Duka began.

‘I’m genuinely sorry,’ he confessed, before Whitney pulled out a notebook and started to read out everything she’s been bottling up.

‘I honestly felt like I was being attacked and ostracised by the group,’ she began, in reference to the commitment ceremony the previous night, which saw the two come to blows once again.

‘And the one person who’s spent more time with me than anyone else there didn’t stand up for me and say, hang on, that’s not who she is. You weren’t protecting me.’

She continued to tell Duka that she’s done ‘so much work’ to ‘put the fractured pieces of myself back together’, but she felt like she’d been ‘broken all the way back down again.’

Whitney proceeded to burst into tears, with a tearful Duka repeating his apology and admitting he wasn’t ‘strong enough’ to stand up for her the previous night.

‘I’ve got my own hurdles to get through, I’m not saying it’s just you who’s got issues to work through,’ assured Whitney, saying she wants to ‘move forwards’ and work on ‘rebuilding the trust’ in their marriage.

After previously accusing her husband of being ‘fake’, Whitney sweetly told him to ‘just be Duka.’

‘You’re more than enough,’ she reassured, before they shared a cuddle.

Duka, who admitted later that he ‘wasn’t expecting’ Whitney to be so open, then decided to just dive in at the deep and and ask Whitney to move in with him.

‘You should definitely move in because I genuinely want us to have that foundation. If you’re not confident though and you want a bit more space, more time, I respect that as well,’ he told her, before Whitney agreed to move in.

‘Fresh start,’ they both repeated, seemingly ready to move on from the drama.

Married At First Sight continues tomorrow at 9pm on E4.
