Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse admitted that her fellow judges don’t interact much outside the show.

In a matter of weeks, the 2022 series of Strictly is set to launch, with stars including Helen SkeltonJames ByeFleur East and Kym Marsh among the celebrities announced in this year’s line-up.

Pro dancer Motsi, who has been on the Strictly judging panel since 2019 shared that there’s very little interaction between her, head judge Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke.

When asked if the fabulous four hang out after show hours, she said: ‘No. None of that.

‘There are some moments where you write “happy birthday” or something like that.

Motsi, who was also a judge on the German edition of the BBC flagship programme explained there was a ‘basis of friendship’ with her co-stars, and insisted that her relationship with the UK judges was ‘different.’

‘There’s so much pressure – it’s prime time, so you get in, you do the job and everybody just wants to go home,’ she added to The Telegraph.

Ahead of the 2022 series of Strictly, Motsi’s sister Oti Mabuse revealed she would be stepping down as a professional dancer on the show.

However, fans have no need to worry as Motsi doesn’t plan on leaving the series any time soon.

‘I’ll continue to fly the Mabuse flag on Strictly for as long as they want,’ she told Prima magazine

In her latest memoir Finding My Own Rhythm, Motsi wanted to show people the other side of her life was not always as glitzy as what is shown on Strictly.

She explained: ‘When you’re a judge on Strictly, you only get to show a percentage of who you are. That’s why I wanted to write my memoir.

‘I love the glitz and glamour of the show, but that’s just a small part of who I am. Nobody has seen me grow or witnessed my struggles, so I wanted to tell people about my background and show them the real me.’

Motsi began dancing at the age of six, making it her career as a competitor and teacher in her own dance school in Germany before joining the BBC show.

Strictly Come Dancing launches on Saturday, September 17, on BBC One.
