Ricky Martin is facing another sexual assault complaint following a filing on Friday in San Juan, Puerto Rico, after the singer sued his nephew for $20million (£17.4million) due to claims he made that they were involved in a sexual relationship.
The latest filing was confirmed by a San Juan police spokesman.
Although the details of the complaint – including who made it – are not public due to its nature, a source not authorised to speak about the case told AP that it was Martin’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sánchez Martin.
In a statement obtained by Deadline, Martin’s legal team fiercely denied the allegations, commenting: ‘These claims are wildly offensive and completely untethered from reality. When this man previously made similar allegations, his legal case had to be withdrawn – not least because he himself admitted under oath that Ricky Martin had never assaulted him in any way.
His lawyer José Andréu-Fuentes added: ‘Now, after being sued for trying to extort Mr Martin, he is attempting to spread his lies again. It is beyond time that the media stops giving this deeply troubled individual the oxygen of publicity and allows him to get the help he so clearly needs.’
In July, the Livin’ La Vida Loca chart-topper was the subject of a restraining order filed by his nephew, 21, alleging the romantic relationship.

Martin, 50, vehemently denied the claims and his nephew’s lawyer subsequently requested that the restraining order be withdrawn, which a judge in Puerto Rico granted.
The singer was later seen in a video from the remote court hearing explaining how the allegations had impacted his life.
Martin is now suing his nephew for extortion, malicious persecution and abuse of law.

The lawsuit states that Martin has been ‘persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted’ by his nephew, who has reportedly continued to communicate with the singer via text message with threats to ‘assassinate his reputation’ unless ‘he is economically compensated’.

Martin claims to have suffered losses of $10m (£8.7m) in income, and $20m worth of damage to his reputation due to the allegations.
They have also reportedly left the star and his family feeling ‘unsafe in Puerto Rico’ where they primarily live.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Martin’s reps for further comment.
