Drew Barrymore was overcome with emotion when she reunited with her ex-boyfriend Justin Long on her chat show.

The 47-year-old actor dated Justin on and off from 2007 until 2010 and they both starred in romantic comedy Going the Distance.

Speaking on Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Drew interviewed her former beau, who starred in Dodgeball, and reflected on their romance.

Breaking down in tears the presenter hugged the 44-year-old and said: ‘I will always love you so much. You were so important to me. I really am, I’m really grateful.’

‘I feel like we’ve been through so much together too,’ the 50 First Dates star explained. ‘When we used to talk and FaceTime I was always like, “You know, I’ve really grown up Justin.” I always wanted to prove to you what a different person I was than when we dated.’

Justin responded: ‘You were the best’ before Drew went on to describe their relationship as ‘hella fun’ and ‘hedonistic’.

She revealed: ‘We had so much fun but we were more hedonistic. A little more immature. We would get together, we would break up. It was chaos, it was hella-fun.’

Agreeing with the Charlie’s Angels performer, Justin said: ‘Fun chaos—well yeah, most hedonism is fun.’

Since parting ways, Long went on to strike up a romance with The Dropout actor Amanda Seyfriend and is currently dating Kate Bosworth, after she separated from husband director Michael Polish.
