Leonardo DiCaprio became the butt of Kenan Thompson’s jokes at the 2022 Emmy Awards tonight.

It emerged that the Titanic actor, 47, had split from Camila Morrone, 25, earlier this summer, after five years together.

Their romance raised eyebrows in Hollywood due to the 22-year age gap, a response the model previously criticized.

The news led to an overload of memes on social media, amid a long-running joke that he doesn’t date anyone over the age of 25.

Kenan – who was hosting the proceedings – couldn’t help making a dig at the news of their split, which comes shortly after the actress celebrated her 25th birthday.

‘Zendaya’s here from Euphoria, hello Zendaya,’ he announced as the camera panned to the actress, who was sat in the audience.

‘Zendaya just turned 26 last week, happy birthday. 26 is a weird age in Hollywood…

‘I mean, you’re young enough to play a high school student but you’re too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio…’

The audience laughed at the quip, while Zendaya hid her face from the camera after Kenan’s comments.

Leonardo was first linked to Camila, stepdaughter of Al Pacino, in 2017, and the former couple attended their first bash as a couple the following year.

They kept their relationship firmly behind closed doors and rarely spoke about each other in public.

Famously, they were pictured in the same crowds at the Oscars, in 2020, but avoided walking the red carpet together or posing beside each other on the night.

Camila previously slammed the dialogue surrounding their relationship and the discussion of their age gap in a chat with the Los Angeles Times, insisting that ‘anyone should be able to date who they want to date’.

Following the news of their break-up, Leo’s former partner, Kristen Zang, also slammed the jokes surrounding his love life.

‘I read the headlines and online comments with his most recent ex girlfriend being referred to as having “aged out” or being “too old for Leo at 25,” puh-lease (insert dramatic eye roll),’ she said of her ex – who she dated for four years in the 90s – in an open letter for People Magazine.

‘I think we can and should do better. What kind of message is this sending to young people?’
