One of the best parts of The Great British Bake Off is, of course, the plethora of cake-related innuendos weaved into the charming Channel 4 series.

During the first episode of the 2022 series, a specific element of one baker’s cake bore an unmistakable resemblance to a certain body part – and fans were left stunned by what they were seeing.

With mere minutes to go until the end of the Showstopper challenge, Syabira was adding the finishing touches to the baked house inspired by her childhood home in Malaysia, recalling how she used to climb the coconut tree nearby.

However, the actual creation of the coconut tree ended up being far from PG.

Presenter Matt Lucas sauntered over to Syabira’s station to see what she was up to, only to find her placing both of her hands on a phallic–shaped white structure in order to shape it.

‘It’s not what it looks like,’ the 32-year-old cardiovascular research associate insisted – but the 48-year-old co-host seemed less-than-convinced.

He wasn’t the only one, with several people on Twitter agreeing that it was ‘so not a coconut tree’.

‘Syabira making an Anne Summers house,’ one person remarked, while another fan commented: ‘I’m sure it is a “coconut tree”, love.’

Someone else used a very descriptive choice of words when explaining what the element of the Showstopper reminded them of, comparing it to a ‘feathery dildo’, as another admitted it was ‘definitely questionable’.

To mark the first episode of the new series of Bake Off launching, Syabira revealed on Instagram that she cosied up for the evening with a homemade blueberry swiss roll, made from blueberry patterned vanilla sponge and filled with blueberry jam and sour plum cream.

Former Bake Off winner Rahul congratulated her on her efforts in the first week, writing in the comments section underneath her picture: ‘You did very well!!’

While Syabira excelled in the competition, earning the number one spot during the Technical challenge, it was Janusz who was crowned Star Baker of the week, while Will was sent home.

In his goodbye letter, the former charity director wrote: ‘Wow, how amazing it has been to bake in the Bake Off tent!

‘For me Bake Off is something really special, I feel it defines a contemporary vision of Britishness – a diverse, dynamic, friendly, creative, supportive and loving place brought together by a shared passion for baking. I feel so honoured to be part of that.

‘Thank you, and let’s make cake!’

The Great British Bake Off returns next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4 and is available to watch on All 4.
