Zendaya proved she is the moment during last night’s Emmy Awards, after nabbing the lead actress gong for her outstanding performance in Euphoria.
The ‘deeply emotional’ Bafta-winning TV series follows high school student Rue Bennett as she relapses into drug addiction, following an unsuccessful stint in rehab.
In September 2020, the Dune actress made history as the youngest ever actress to win the lead actress Emmy and beat off competition from the likes of Olivia Colman, Jennifer Aniston, and Jodie Comer.
And after her powerful performance in season two, which premiered in January, and according to fans everywhere, there was only one clear winner.
During her speech, the Malcolm and Marie star thanked her loved ones before going on to pay tribute to anyone suffering from addiction.
‘My greatest wish for Euphoria was that it could help heal people,’ she said.

‘I just want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their story with me. I want you to know that anyone who has loved a Rue or feels like they are a Rue, I want you to know I’m so grateful for your stories and I carry them with me, and I carry them with her.’
Although it was a triumphant evening for Zendaya, she experienced an awkward moment when host Kenan Thompson poked fun at Leonardo Di Caprio’s running joke that he doesn’t date anyone over the age of 25.
‘Zendaya’s here from Euphoria, hello Zendaya,’ he announced as the camera panned to the actress, who was sat in the audience.
‘Zendaya just turned 26 last week, happy birthday. 26 is a weird age in Hollywood…
‘I mean, you’re young enough to play a high school student but you’re too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio…’
