Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander is facing another arrest warrant after reportedly missing a court date.

Alexander, who was married to the pop star for 55 hours in 2004, was due to appear at a court in Napa County on Tuesday.

It stems from a 2015 case where a woman accused him of stealing a bracelet from her worth $2,000 (£1,650). Alexander was charged with two felony counts of grand theft and buying/receiving stolen property.

Authorities were alerted to the outstanding case when Alexander, 40, got arrested for crashing Spears’ wedding to Sam Asghari at her California home in June.

Alexander was then extradited to face the charges after completing a 60-day jail sentence related to the Spears intrusion. He was then told to return to the Napa court on September 13 following an earlier arraignment, and had his bail set at $20k (£16,500), but is said to have been a no-show, TMZ reports

Due to him missing the court appearance, police have reportedly issued a fresh arrest warrant.

Henry Wofford, spokesman for Napa County Sheriff’s Office, previously said the alleged crimes had been committed in 2015, after Alexander rented a room from a woman in American Canyon, in Napa County, stating: ‘She had a room to rent and she was looking for a tenant to rent the room. A friend recommended Mr Alexander.

‘Mr Alexander moved there and within the first month of living there the homeowner realised her $2,000 bracelet was missing from her bedroom.

‘She asked Mr Alexander did he steal the bracelet, he said no and eventually moved out.

‘She contacted him again and Mr Alexander admitted that he did steal her bracelet and he pawned it at a local pawn shop.’

It was added the woman was unsuccessful in retrieving her bracelet from the pawn shop, at which point she contacted the sheriff’s department. However, by the time the report was filed in 2016, Alexander had left the state.

After he turned up at Spears’ home uninvited on the day of her wedding, Alexander was convicted of trespassing and battery. He was found not guilty of felony stalking and not guilty of a further misdemeanour vandalism charge.
