Jada Pinkett Smith is one flawless icon as she celebrated her bald head this week.

Yesterday marked National Bald Is Beautiful Day in the US, as a ‘gentle reminder that we are all beautiful the way we are – bald or not,’ with a national organisation encouraging people ‘to tell your bald friends that they are beautiful. The celebrations are all about spreading cheer’.

And Jada set out to do just that, as she paid tribute to her followers rocking a bald head.

Sharing an image of herself gazing into the camera, the actress wrote: ‘Happy Bald is Beautiful day to all my brothers and sisters with no hair❣️❣️❣️.’

In 2018 Jada revealed she suffers from the autoimmune disorder alopecia, a physical health condition that causes her hair to fall out. It is often associated with stress and anxiety. There is no cure, but treatments are available to slow down the loss of hair.

Followers of the Red Table Talk host celebrated her right back, with many remarking at her glow, as others shared a whole bunch of admiring emoji.

Her joyful post comes after Jada’s bald head was the butt of a joke levelled by Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars ceremony, where he said while presenting: ‘Jada, I love you, GI Jane 2, I can’t wait to see it’.

This prompted Jada’s husband Will Smith to storm the stage and slap the comedian before warning him to ‘keep her name out of his mouth’.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air lead – who was later banned from the Oscars for a decade – later issued a lengthy apology and took a moment to clear up rumors about what happened, after it was claimed Jada had asked him to step in.

In the clip, Will addressed the question: ‘After Jada rolled her eyes, did she tell you to do something?’ and said that this could not be further from the truth.

‘No. I made a choice on my own, from my own experiences, from my history with Chris,’ he insisted. ‘Jada had nothing to do with it. I’m sorry babe.’

During a Red Table Talk episode, Jada addressed the slap and used the moment to ‘give our alopecia family an opportunity to talk about what it’s like to have this condition and to inform people about what alopecia actually is.’

She added: ‘Now about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile.

‘The state of the world today, we need them both. And we all actually need one another more than ever.

‘Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years, and that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together. Thank you for listening.’
