Former Great British Bake Off star Michael Chakraverty has revealed he was followed home on Wednesday night after getting off the London Underground.
The writer and podcaster, who came sixth when he appeared on the wholesome Channel 4 show in 2019, shared news of his terrifying ordeal on social media, while pleading with fans to keep their distance.
‘So I’m really thrilled if you love bake off and absolutely say hello if you’d like, but please don’t follow me from the tube to my home, it’s really inappropriate and scary,’ Michael wrote.
Concerns fans were quick to voice their support and many reached out to see if he was alright.
‘Oh cripes! Are you OK?’ one asked. ‘Some people don’t seem to collate celebrity figures with being real people and seem to think the normal rules don’t apply.’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘That’s awful. Sorry to hear that you went through that. Hope you’re ok.’

Bake Off returned to television screens on Tuesday night, welcoming 12 new bakers to the tent for cake week.
Ahead of launch night, Michael reminded viewers to keep quiet if they’ve not got anything nice to tweet, explaining that social media and articles can ‘tarnish its shine’.
The opening episode saw the hopefuls tasked with baking 12 signature mini sandwich cakes, a classic red velvet technical and a home-inspired showstopper.
Former charity director Will became the contestant to be given the boot after failing to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith with his ginger and caramel square signature and a cakey replica of his old London flat.
