Kate Beckinsale has made a heart-warming declaration about her friend and co-star Brian Cox, revealing he’s one of her favourite people ‘in the world’.

The 49-year-old shared some playful snaps on Instagram with the Succession actor on a chaise longue at the premiere of their new film, Prisoner’s Daughter, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Kate lay elegantly across the couch in a strapless coral gown with her legs delicately placed on the 76-year-old’s knee.

Posting the snaps to her 5.5 million followers on Instagram on Wednesday, she gushed: ‘There are about fifteen people I’d say are my favourite people in the world and @coxusa is so mighty he’s at least two of them.

‘Here we are hating each other at @tiff_net for our film #prisonerdaughter.’

Kate teamed her gorgeous dress – which boasts a voluminous skirt – with black high heels and black leather fingerless gloves.

The Underworld star swept her hair back into a bouncy ponytail with a sweet curl through her brunette locks.

Kate beamed at Brian, who looked dapper in a blue plaid suit with a navy-blue shirt and tie.

Their film, Prisoner’s Daughter, follows Brian as a terminally-ill convict who attempts to reconnect with his daughter (played by Kate) and grandson before it’s too late.

However, his violent past comes back to haunt him, which makes for a ‘raw’ final film, director Catherine Hardwicke has warned.

Speaking to Deadline in 2021, she described the project as a ‘raw, personal, look at a deeply fractured family’.

Catherine also emphasised that she wanted the audience to be drawn into the intensity of Kate and Brian’s characters relationship.

‘I want to fully immerse the viewer in Kate’s character’s intense world as she, her father and her young son try to heal generational family trauma and find a new way forward,’ she added.

It’ll be a far cry from their real-life relationship, that’s for certain.
