Both of the new Call Of Duty: Warzone games have release dates, with the mobile version to see the return of the fan-favourite Verdansk.

Seven months since Activision announced it, fans finally have official details regarding the sequel to the Call Of Duty: Warzone battle royale.

Announced during the recent Call Of Duty Next livestream, the sequel is simply titled Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and will launch as a free-to-play title on November 16, a detail that already leaked last month.

There were suspicions that Warzone 2.0 would be exclusive to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but Activision confirmed that it will be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.

While its layout had also leaked beforehand, Activision shared a more detailed look at the game’s new map: Al Mazrah.

As suspected, it will feature areas submerged in water for players to make use of the swimming mechanic, as well as ‘coastal towns, depots, desert, rocky peaks, subterranean spaces, industrial areas, rivers, and an entire city to explore.’

More details can be found on the Call Of Duty website, where Activision also admits to the long rumoured and often leaked DMZ mode.

There’s still not a lot of official info about it, with it so far only described as a special ‘extraction’ mode. Although it sounds like it will be available alongside Warzone 2.0 when the game launches.

‘This is a passion project for the teams at Infinity Ward and across the contributing studios, and the main premise is about choosing your own experience within the warzone, working socially if you wish, and collecting gear to keep in your Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 inventory and utilise from match to match,’ says Activision.

Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile also saw a proper reveal following last week’s teaser trailer.

Although it will offer platform exclusive content and events, it will allow for cross-progression across Warzone 2.0 and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This covers weapon inventories, loadouts, and even battle pass progression.

Long-time fans will also be pleased to know that the Verdansk map from the first Warzone will return in the mobile game, with Warzone 2.0’s map to arrive some time afterwards.

Warzone Mobile only has a 2023 release window, but it will launch worldwide on Android and iOS devices. Pre-registration is available right now, but only for Android. The website makes no mention of when pre-registration will be available for iOS.

In case you missed it, Call Of Duty Next outlined a bunch of details for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer as well, such as underwater combat and a third-person mode.
