The latest episode of Gogglebox saw the stars of the Channel 4 programme react to the Queen’s death, as several of them burst into tears over the emotional news coverage.

They also reacted to the moment Prince William, Catherine, Prince Harry and Meghan – previously known as the ‘Fab Four’ – reunited to greet well-wishers in Windsor, as Mary Killen commended the Prince of Wales on his ‘kingly qualities’.

Following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, there’s been widespread speculation over the state of the relationship between the two sons of King Charles III.

However, after Queen Elizabeth II’s death at the age of 96, a reunion between them and their wives – which is said to have come about following an invitation from William – has sparked renewed hope that they could repair any fractures in their relationship.

While watching the two couples looking at tributes to the Queen and shaking hands with members of the public on the latest episode of Gogglebox, the Siddiqui family expressed surprise over seeing all four of them together.

‘It’s unthinkable to see all four of them together,’ Lee Rigby said, as Mary added to her husband Giles Wood: ‘The Queen would be thrilled to see that, wouldn’t she.’

At one point, Mary became slightly irritated with her husband when he suggested that the couples should play a game of Twister at Frogmore Cottage as an ‘ice breaker’.

She then remarked on the report that William was the one to invite Harry and Meghan to join him and Catherine during the public engagement.

‘Good for you Prince William. That shows leadership. Kingly qualities,’ she said regarding the new heir to the throne.

On Saturday, the grandchildren of the Queen will stand vigil by her coffin at Westminster Hall, after her children – King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew – did so on Friday evening.

Having not been permitted to wear his military uniform during recent official events commemorating the Queen as he is no longer a working royal, Harry will wear his uniform at the vigil.

‘It was a ludicrous situation, given the Duke of Sussex has served his country and is a highly respected member of the Armed Forces with everything he has done for veterans,’ a source told The Daily Mirror.

‘It is important that the Queen’s grandchildren are all made to feel welcome and comfortable as they grieve their beloved grandmother together.’

Gogglebox returns next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and is available to watch on All 4.
