Henry Silva, best-known for starring in films including Ocean’s 11, The Manchurian Candidate and Johnny Cool, has died at the age of 95.
His death was confirmed by his son Scott, who told The Hollywood Reporter that his father died of natural causes on Wednesday September 14, a day shy of his 96th birthday.
The actor – who was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1926 – died at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills.
Deana Martin, the daughter of Hollywood legend Dean Martin, shared a heartfelt tribute to Silva on Twitter, saying he was ‘one of the nicest men’ she ever had the ‘pleasure’ of calling a friend.
‘Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Henry Silva, one of the nicest, kindest and most talented men I’ve had the pleasure of calling my friend,’ she wrote.
‘He was the last surviving star of the original Oceans 11 Movie. We love you Henry, you will be missed.’
