Line of Duty star Daniel Mays has revealed that he spent 11 hours queuing to see the Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall.
The star, who played Danny Waldron in the drama, joins stars including David Beckham, Tilda Swinton, and Susanna Reid, who have queued ahead of the Queen’s state funeral.
Sharing photos of himself in the queue, Daniel wrote on Twitter: ’11 hours queueing to pay our respects to the Queen for her exceptional 70 years of service yesterday [sic].
‘The warmth, affection, conversations shared, glorious views and sense of community were magical to be part of. Made me proud to be British and proud to be a Londoner.’
The White Lines actor previously paid tribute to the late monarch, who died at the age of 96 on September 8, writing on Twitter: ‘Lots of emotional moments whilst watching the continued coverage of our Queen’s passing. Last night’s final journey to the Palace in the typically dizzily London rain proper choked me. The moment the police outriders bowed their heads as the crowds cheered. She was so loved.’
Also attending Westminster Hall were stars including David Beckham, who queued for 13 hours and appeared to shed a tear when he filed past the Queen’s coffin.
At the time, he told the BBC: ‘We all want to be here together, we all want to experience something where we celebrate the amazing life of our Queen.’

However, This Morning issued a statement insisting this was not the case, and that they were there as part of the press.

They said: ‘Hello everyone, we would like to clarify something.
‘We asked Phillip and Holly to be part of a film for this Tuesday’s programme.
‘They did not jump the queue, have VIP access or file past the Queen lying in state – but instead were there in a professional capacity as part of the world’s media to report on the event’.
