The Great British Bake Off has once again returned to our screens, with a fresh batch of bakers vying to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
The thirteenth season of the hit cooking competition series sees 12 contestants hit the famous tent and attempt various challenges, including creating an epic Showstopper.
Jollied along by presenters by Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding, the cast member who dazzles Paul and Prue the most is awarded Star Baker for the week.
Lots of Bake Off alumni have gone on to find fame, including 2015 champion Nadiya Hussain and Candice Brown.
Among this year’s cohort are a nuclear scientist, a music teacher and a nanny, with many of them already growing large fan bases.
Here are the Instagram accounts for The Great British Bake Off contestants 2022.
Rebs
Rebs has an Instagram dedicated to her baking creations, with recent posts featuring a recipe for a delectable lemon curd.
You can find the Northern Irish student’s account and salivate at her delicious cakes at @rebsbakes.
Aged 23, Rebs said her earliest memory was helping her mum in the kitchen two decades ago and likes to add Turkish flavours to her cooking in a nod to her boyfriend’s heritage.
Abdul
Abdul appears to be a newcomer on Instagram, with his first and only post a shot of Bake Off’s class of 2022.
The 29-year-old uses his background as an electronics engineer to create precise and detailed bakes.
Outside of the kitchen, Abdul is a keen salsa dancer and can be followed at @abdul.rehman.sharif.
Janusz
Janusz has got off to a flying start having been awarded star baker in week one.
Originally from Poland, the 34-year-old enjoys sharing pics of his food on Instagram, from homemade cheese and potato pierogi to Halloween-themed cakes.
You can follow Janusz at @januszbakes.
James
If you’re looking for some bread inspo, check out James’ Instagram at @the_big_gay_baker.
While the 25-year-old from Cumbria describes himself as the ‘red velvet king’, you can also drool at his sourdough loaves baked to perfection.
A nuclear scientist, James loves the technical side of baking and adding autumnal flavours, like apples and caramel, to his goods.
Dawn
On the first episode of GBBO, Dawn revealed she had previously worked for Boris Johnson, although never met the disgraced prime minister.
Over on Instagram, the 60-year-old, who is from Bedfordshire, has posted pictures of impeccable macaroons and the odd cocktail thrown in for good measure.
The IT manager’s, who can be followed at @thebakerdawn, favourite flavours are lemon, salted caramel and nutty treats.
Syabira
Born in Malaysia, Syabira now lives in London with her boyfriend with whom she shares a passion for gaming.
A relative newcomer to cake making, the 32-year-old got the baking bug back in 2017 when she produced her very first creation, a red velvet cake.
The cardiovascular research associate’s Instagram account is @syabira_bakes.
Sandro
Sandro has posted some epic pictures of his festive creations, from mustard and cheese Christmas tree puff pastry twists to a Biscoff cake.
The 30-year-old nanny fled the Angolan war with his mum when he was two and bakes with flavours inspired by his heritage.
Sandro, who is also a keen boxer, can be followed at @sandrobakes.
Kevin
Kevin rarely makes an appearance on his Instagram and instead posts incredible pictures of his cooking masterpieces.
The 33-year-old has also shared his appreciation on his account @kevinflynnbakes for cooking books by the founders of Indian restaurant Dishoom and Nigel Slater.
A music teacher, Kevin performs as a saxophonist, and can play the flute, piano and clarinet too.
Maxy
Maxy started her account, which can be found at @maxythebaxer, in January 2020 with a picture of a fresh fruit salad.
The architectural assistant, who was born in Sweden, now lives in London and has two daughters.
Her Scandi heritage influences her cooking, with the 29-year-old a big fan of Nordic flavours like cinnamon.
Maisam
As well as baking, Maisam’s Instagram feed is littered with snaps from her far-flung travels, including Turkey and Venice.
Originally from Libya, the 18-year-old is a student and sales assistant who now lives in Manchester.
You can follow Maisam at @la.maisam.
Carole
On Instagram, Carole updates her followers with intricately designed and lavish birthday cakes.
The 59-year-old has also struck up a friendship with Janusz, sharing a snap cuddled up him saying: ‘Friends forever.’
You can follow the supermarket cashier from Dorset at @compostcarole.
Will
While the 45-year-old was eliminated from GBBO in the first episode after cake week, it hasn’t held the former charity director back from baking.

Since his departure was announced, the father-of-three has been cooking up a storm, including a very fuffy-looking blueberry cake.
Will can be followed at @will.4.food.
