Adam Levine admitted to cheating on his previous partners in an unearthed interview, amid speculation over his romance with Behati Prinsloo.
The Maroon 5 singer’s marriage to the Victoria’s Secret icon was thrown into the spotlight this week after Instagram model Sumner Stroh claimed that they had an affair – allegations he strongly denied.
In a recently uncovered interview with Cosmopolitan, the 43-year-old opened up about his love life and revealed that he was unfaithful in previous relationships.
Speaking to the publication in 2009, three years before he started dating Behati, the Payphone musician was questioned on why men cheat.
‘Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup,’ the dad-of-two replied in a candid answer. ‘People cheat. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.’
Adam also explained that he is not hard on himself in general, to the point where ‘it’s a bad thing’.

‘My ability to detach myself – it’s also my worst feature,’ he said of his best asset. ‘I let myself off the hook to the point where it’s a bad thing. People are hard on themselves. I’m not.’
When asked whether he is as articulate with his partners as he comes across in songs, he added: ‘Of course not! In real life, I am emotionally confused, which enables me to write songs. I’m a Pisces, and they say that Pisces are very sensitive.
‘If men were just honest with themselves, they would see that they all have that side.’
The former Voice US coach met Behati in 2012 and they tied the knot two years later, before welcoming their first child, Dusty Rose, in 2016.

They added to their family once again in 2019 with daughter Gio Grace, with the model recently confirming that baby number three is on the way.
However, their marriage has been rocked by allegations that he has been unfaithful, after Sumner shared a video on TikTok on Monday, alleging that they had an affair.
She said that she felt ‘exploited’ by the situation, and claimed that he later asked if he could name their third child after her.
Since her allegations came to light, a string of other women have come forward with claims that they also received flirty DMs from the frontman.
Comedian Maryka posted alleged messages with Levine to her stories, where he is purported to have said: ‘Don’t ever apologize for being human… Distract yourself by f**king with me.’
She also posted a reel by a separate user, where the singer is alleged to told her: ‘I’m now obsessed with you.’
He is thought to have addressed the fact he was married by saying: ‘Yes but it’s a bit complicated. Stuff gets hard and the vid thing didn’t help. I might get away.’

Reports of another alleged conversation between the singer and another woman also emerged, while his former yoga teacher has since claimed that he sent her a flirty text.
Levine addressed the accusations of his affair with Sumner on Instagram yesterday, denying the allegations but admitting that he ‘crossed the line’ with some messages.
‘A lot is being said about me right now and I want to clear the air. I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,’ it read. ‘I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.

‘In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.’
‘My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make.’
‘I will never make it again. I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.’
