Kanye West has spoken out about co-parenting with Kim Kardashian, claiming that he had to ‘fight’ for his voice to be heard.
for ‘any stress’ he caused her, in a new interview.
The Kardashians star filed for divorce from the Praise God rapper last February after six years of marriage – the former couple have since been co-parenting their children, North, Saint, Psalm and Chicago.
Appearing on Good Morning America, he took the opportunity to speak out on where they stand and how they have come together for their family.
When asked if he feels he has a ‘voice’ now, in terms of their four children, he confessed: ‘I do have a voice but I had to fight for it. That hurts you, when you have to scream about what your kids are wearing.
‘It’s just little nuances where there was a parallel to what was happening at Gap, what was happening at Adidas and what was happening in my home. It was a disregard for the voice of something I co-created.
‘I co-created the children, I co-created the product at Adidas, I co-created the product at Gap. There’s a parallel, and the parallel does touch on discrimination.’
‘Even within your marriage?’ host Linsey Davis probed, to which he replied: ‘Yeah. I want my kids to go to Donda and I have to fight for a say-so.’
Ye launched the Donda Academy, named after his late mother, in California earlier this month.
Little else is known about the school, but the facility is said to ‘prepare students to become the next generation of leaders’ through ‘an ethic of integrity and care.’
‘I have a right to have a voice on what my kids are wearing, what they’re watching, what they’re eating,’ he continued on GMA. ‘I have a platform where I get to say what so many dads can’t say out loud.

‘I’m their dad. It has to be co-parenting. It’s not up to only the woman. Like, men have a choice also. Men’s voices matter.’
Following their split, Kim later moved on with Saturday Night Live comedian Pete Davidson, but they were met with anger from the dad-of-four, who publicly slammed their brief romance in countless disturbing Instagram posts, before celebrating their eventual split last month.
‘This is the mother of my children, and I apologize for any stress that I have caused, even in my frustration, because God calls me to be stronger,’ he added.
‘I need this person to be less stressed and of the best, sound mind and as calm as possible to be able to raise those children.’

The fashion designer previously took aim at Kim in a now-deleted Instagram post, vowing that he wouldn’t back down when it came to his loved ones.
‘Here’s the through line,’ he penned. ‘Gap having meetings about me without me. Adidas releasing old shoes and coloring my shoes like I’m dead.
‘Me not having a say on where my children go to school.

‘Call me whatever names you want. If you don’t understand why I will not back down on my businesses, my brands and my children then you’re the ones who are crazy.’
In another post, which was also removed from the platform, Ye added: ‘It’s not up to Calabasas or Hulu where my kids go to school I’m not the crazy one here It’s up.
‘I won’t stop until I have a say so on my kids no matter what it legally takes.’
