Leslie Grace has treated fans to some exciting behind the scenes peeks at axed film Batgirl, saying she ‘couldn’t resist’.

The 27-year-old In The Heights star was set to make her debut as Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl, in the movie later this year, alongside co-stars JK Simmons, Michael Keaton and Brendan Fraser.

Unfortunately, studio Warner Bros had other ideas, canning the $80million film in August but insisting the decision ‘reflects our leadership’s strategic shift’ and was not ‘a reflection of her performance’.

Taking to TikTok on Saturday, the star shared a reel of highlights she had created from her time working on the superhero movie.

Starting off with her rocking the character’s smoky eye make up, the short clip revealed glimpses of footage filmed directly from an on-set monitor, as well as plenty of stunt and fight training for the physically demanding role.

Leslie was also peeped having her make-up and wig down, as well as falling from a terrifyingly tall platform in a harness.

Playing out to Omar Apollo’s track Evergreen (You Didn’t Deserve Me At All), the TikTok finished with a fun look at the actress in full Batgirl regalia, including mask and goggles, as she rode a bucking children’s fairground ride.

Omar had responded himself to the tag, commenting: ‘THEY DIDN’T DESERVE U BABY.’

‘I have no doubt you absolutely did Babs justice <3,’ wrote another fan.

On Sunday, she returned to the social media platform to drop more gems as she uploaded another video of BTS action – but this time it was even more poignant.

Putting it to recording of her own track, Leslie shared: ‘Wrote this song during the pandemic.. b4 I even knew ANY of this would be my life 🤷🏽‍♀️🦇#batgirlsgetlonelytoo #badgirlsgetlonelytoo,’ making a joke out of the title of her song by listing it as ‘Batgirls Get Lonely Too’.

The star’s second round of footage included an exciting look at her escaping from a burning building in costume, as well as closer looks at her wigs, training and effects make-up.

In the aftermath of Batgirl’s cancellation, Leslie took to social media to thank fans for their outpouring of support, as well as praise her colleagues from the production and proclaim herself ‘Batgirl for life’.

‘Querida familia! On the heels of the recent news about our movie “Batgirl,” I am proud of the love, hard work and intention all of our incredible cast and tireless crew put into this film over 7 months in Scotland.

‘I feel blessed to have worked among absolute greats and forged relationships for a lifetime in the process! To every Batgirl fan – THANK YOU for the love and belief, allowing me to take on the cape and become, as Babs said best, “my own damn hero!”

Recently, fans have now started to wonder if The Simpsons managed to predict Batgirl’s cancellation, along with everything else they’ve got eerily accurate in the past.
