I bought a $16 Shein outfit with no reviews – it was a harsh reminder that I’m NOT a model

A SHEIN shopper ordered a brand-new knit set for fall, despite a lack of reviews on the item’s page.

When the outfit arrived, she was disappointed but laughed off the embarrassing result with the help of commenters who had similar experiences.

When TikTok user Brittini placed her Shein order for a two-piece knit sweater and shorts, she noticed there weren’t any reviews for the $30 item.

Eager to snag the cute clothes before they sold out in her size, she placed the order anyway. When the outfit arrived, Brittini tried them on and posted the result.

“Almost forgot I’m not a model for a second,” she wrote. Posing in front of her closet, she grimaced and held her arms out for inspection.

The green outfit, which appeared much more fitted on the model, hung loosely on Brittini’s frame.

“And that’s on buying something that has zero reviews,” she added in the caption. Though Brittini was disappointed, other TikTok users left encouraging messages.

“They use clips on the models behind her back to make the clothes more tailored,” one viewer claimed.

“It’s the angle, pining of the clothes to fit her better, lighting and filters to make the clothes look more appealing,” another person added. “So shut up cause you’re gorgeous.”

Others said that they liked the way the set looked on Brittini, even if it wasn’t an exact match to the photo.

“Maybe I’m crazy…but I think it looks cute on you?” a viewer wrote.

A different commenter agreed. “The color is gorgeous on you,” they said, and even provided a styling tip.

“I think separately they would look good and the shorts should be hemmed or rolled,” they added.

Others complimented the outfit while gently teasing Brittini. When she said, “I look like a Christmas tree,” a friend immediately joined with a wisecrack.

“The bun/star on top of your head really does it for me,” her pal added.

“It’s giving Frog and Toad,” another commenter chimed in.

After her friends and followers weighed in with their feedback, Brittini’s disappointment in the outfit softened.

“Maybe I was shocked by not looking like the girl in the photo with it on,” she admitted.

But when a commenter told her to keep the outfit instead of returning it, Brittini delivered grim news.

And if Brittini wants to re-purchase the set, she’s out of luck: the two-piece set, now marked down to $16, is almost sold out, but there are now reviews on the page for any potential customers.
