George Clooney has shared his regret over teaching his twins Ella and Alexander Italian because he doesn’t have the foggiest what they’re saying.
The ER actor shares the five-year-olds with his human rights lawyer wife Amal Clooney, whom he married in a lavish Venice wedding eight years ago.
The couple, who initially bonded over the plight of the Elgin Marbles, appeared on CBS Mornings on Tuesday, where they were interviewed by host Gayle King.
As well as promoting their new awards show, the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Albie awards, the Clooneys spoke about parenting their two young children, who are talented linguists.
Gayle asks the power couple: ‘What do they do that just delights you? Because I know at five they are very chatty.’
The Ticket to Paradise star responds: ‘We made a terrible mistake. We taught them Italian but we don’t speak Italian.
‘We’ve armed them with a language they can harm us with, and we don’t really know what they’re saying.’

The 66-year-old joked: ‘I’m from Kentucky, English is my second language.’
Amal then went on to describe Alexander as a ‘massive prankster’, revealing he had been turning the tables on his dad after learning the tricks of the trade.
Meanwhile, the Tomorrowland actor also revealed he had ‘never had an argument’ with Amal, 44.

Speaking about their relationship, he sad: ‘It does start with love. That’s sort of the whole secret to it. It’s just been easy. Like the easiest thing we have done in our lives thus far. We’ve never had an argument.’
Amal added: ‘I met him, and I thought, “I’m so glad that there is someone like him in the world.” I didn’t ever imagine that I would get to spend the rest of my life with him or that we would have this wonderful family. It took me by surprise!’
