I spent $400 to compare Kim Kardashian’s Skims to Kylie Swim – there was a clear loser
THE swimwear market is saturated with millions of options and two at the forefront are attached to big celebrity names.
Content creator Claudia Walsh decided to put Kim Kardashian’s Skims Swim and Kylie Jenner’ Kylie Swim lines head-to-head to decide which reigns supreme according to style, fit, and cost.

Claudia prefaced the video by saying she’s a big fan of Skims’ loungewear.
She also said she had to purchase her Kylie Swim pieces from the resell platform Depop because most of the products were sold out on the website.
Claudia wanted to compare two one-piece styles and two triangle bikini styles. She also bought an additional Skims high-waisted set to try.
This brought her shopping haul total to $398.

WARDROBE MALFUNCTION
I tried Kim Kardashian’s Skims swimwear – it looks so cheap
First, Claudia showed off the Skims Swim Cut Out Monokini in a bright pink color. She purchased it for $88 and ordered a size XXS.
The one-piece has a low scoop neckline and large circular cutouts on the stomach and back. It also has a super high-waisted and Brazilian-cut bottom.
“I love this one. This is really cute. I didn’t think this [chest] would fit,” Claudia said surprised.
“I feel like it’s so flattering,” she said, adding: “It gives a little side boob but it feels really secure and tight, like, I don’t feel like it’s going to move or anything’s gonna slip.”

“I definitely think it’s worth the money. I don’t think you’re gonna find something like this on Shein that fits this well,” she said before giving the product 10 stars.
To compare, Claudia then tried on the viral Kylie Swim Cut It Out one-piece, which received many negative reviews when it was released in 2021. She purchased the $80 style in a size small.
The yellow one-shouldered swimsuit has a bandeau-style top and large midsection cut-out. The high-waisted bottom has a deep V front and a thong back.
After talking about her hesitancy to try on the bathing suit because of its thin material and “skimpy” silhouette, she tried it on.

“This one is an absolute joke,” Claudia declared.
She kept positioning her hands to cover her chest because the see-through fabric showed her nipples. The cut also revealed underboob.
While the front was skimpy, the back had the opposite effect.
“Let me just say, the thong in the back fits me like Borat,” she said, referencing the “Borat” film’s infamous mankini scene.
“It’s saggy and doesn’t fit, so I look funny,” Claudia added. She showed her sticking her full hand under the loose fabric.
“This just isn’t acceptable to wear anywhere,” she said.
“The [Skims] one is 10 times better. It’s thicker, it fits better, it’s cuter,” she continued, confirming that the Kylie Swim one-piece wasn’t worth the price tag.

Next, Claudia compared triangle-style bikinis. She first tried on the Skims Swim Triangle Top in a small for $38 and the Skims Swim Micro Tanga Bikini Bottoms in a size XS for $36. This totaled $76 for the set.
“I do really like it. I would probably wear this to the beach. It’s pretty simple,” she said of the black string top and thong bottoms.
“The material is super soft and stretchy. It doesn’t dig in or hurt,” she added.
“I would say the triangle top is really small,” Claudia admitted. She said she’d probably size up to a medium.
Then she turned to Kylie Swim, trying on the Triangle Yellow Bikini Top and Bottom, each for $40. This made it $4 more than the Skims option.

“This one, I can’t even move my hair because it’s see-through,” Claudia said, placing her long hair over her chest.
While she thought the fit was flattering, and liked the adjustable straps on the bottoms, Claudia was more concerned with the material.
“Like I can imagine getting it wet at the beach and then you walk out and you just see everything. My nipples would be showing one hundred percent,” she said.
To summarize her comparison review, Claudia decided that Kim Kardashian’s swimwear is worth the money while Kylie Jenners’ is not.
“All in all, I just feel like Kylie Swim is a total thumbs down,” she said.
“I used to post videos trying on cheap swimsuits. I would get a bunch of bathing suits from Shein … for $100 … and they were better quality than Kylie Swim,” Claudia declared.
