Kanye West has extended an olive branch to his former mother-in-law Kris Jenner – by making her image his profile picture on social media.
Tensions between the Jesus Walks rapper and the Kardashian clan have been palpable in recent years amid the breakdown of his marriage with Kim Kardashian.
In July 2020, Kanye, 45, embarked on an explosive Twitter rant in which he called Kris, 66, ‘Kris Jong-un’ in reference to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
‘I been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf for “prison reform”. I got 200 more to go,’ the rapper tweeted, adding: ‘This my lady tweet of the night… Kris Jong-Un Lil Baby my favorite rapper but won’t do a song wit me.’
With Kanye and Kim, 41, now trying to navigate co-parenting their four children amicably, it seems the musician has had a change of heart towards Kris and wants to make amends.
On Wednesday night, he changed his profile picture to an image of Kris looking glamorous as per, leaving fans confused over the move given recent tension.

He later explained the tribute to his former mother-in-law, writing in his Instagram stories: ‘I posted Kris with thoughts of peace and respect lets change the narrative [sic].’
Reacting to the makeover Kanye has given his Instagram page, one fan tweeted: ‘He’s so random lmfao.’
Another said: ‘Kanye west making kris Jenner his insta pfp is such a power move.’
Highly amused by the gesture, one added: ‘Kanye putting kris as his profile picture is sending meeeee LMFAO.’
Kanye has continued to air his issues with Kim on social media recently, including comparing the death of Queen Elizabeth II to their split, writing: ‘London, I know how you feel, I lost my queen too.’

Days before, the Grammy-winning rapper claimed he had been left out of decisions regarding their children until he pushed back.
When asked if he feels he has a ‘voice’ now, in terms of their four children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, he confessed: ‘I do have a voice but I had to fight for it. That hurts you, when you have to scream about what your kids are wearing.
‘It’s just little nuances where there was a parallel to what was happening at Gap, what was happening at Adidas and what was happening in my home. It was a disregard for the voice of something I co-created.
‘I co-created the children, I co-created the product at Adidas, I co-created the product at Gap. There’s a parallel, and the parallel does touch on discrimination.’
Host Linsey Davis probed: ‘Even within your marriage?’, to which he replied: ‘Yeah. I want my kids to go to Donda and I have to fight for a say-so.’
Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage.
