Married At First Sight UK viewers seething after Whitney and Matt allowed back: ‘What an insult to Gemma and Duka’-Cydney Yeates-Entertainment – Metro

Married At First Sight UK viewers are furious that the experts have allowed Whitney Hughes and Matt Murray to re-join the experiment as a new couple after they ditched their original partners.
It’s been a dramatic week on the E4 dating show, with Matt’s wife Gemma Rose left heartbroken after discovering he had developed feelings for Whitney, who was originally matched with Duka Cav.
After Gemma and Duka decided to leave the programme, the new item had the task of trying to convince experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson, and Charlene White to let them stay on.
And during Thursday’s episode, the trio agreed that Matt and Whitney could come back as a dating couple.
Breaking the news, Mel told them: ‘You are a strong match on paper but the way you went about this, we’re not happy with.
‘We’re really disappointed in the way that happened, but we can see that there is something real here. The science backs it up and we are willing to allow you back into the experiment as a new couple, not as a married couple, but as a dating couple.’

She continued: ‘We really hope you honour this op and make the most out of it.’
Charlene added: ‘We welcome you back, we support this relationship, but you have to do the work.
‘We just ask that you are respectful of the other couples, their feelings and their emotions.’
Unsurprisingly, audiences were raging at the decision and expressed their upset for Gemma and Duka.

One vented: ‘No way! I’m SHOCKED the so-called experts allowed Matt & Whitney back in. I hope they get a FROSTY reception.
‘This is a stab in the back for Gemma and Duka & reward bad behaviour. Done purely for tv ratings. Shame on @MAFSUK. At least MAFS Australia had more dignity.’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another slammed: ‘#MAFSUK you got that decision soo wrong. You’re supporting marriages who cheat. Ruining the legitimacy of the experiment and you owe Duka and Gemma a massive apology… you let the bad guys win.’
A third simply penned: ‘What an insult to Gemma and Duka.’
