He still can’t believe he worked with the pop princess.

There’s one popstar who still gives Robbie Williams all the feels and he’s not too proud to admit he’s ‘crushing’ after all these years.

The former Take That singer famously collaborated with pop princess Kylie Minogue on the 2000 single Kids.

It was a pretty perfect duet between two pop juggernauts and the music video only made it more epic with Robbie and Kylie gyrating their hips in PVC and sharing a steamy kiss in a luxury swimming pool – after the Australian singer had stripped off naked, of course.

Naturally, Robbie, 48, still has fond memories of their time working together 22 years ago and said in a new interview: ‘The longest crush on Kylie. I was honoured and I still am to be on a record with her. Dreamy. Still crushed. Still crushing.’

Robbie is now happily married to model and actress Ayda Field while Kylie is in a relationship with British GQ boss Paul Solomons, so their ship has well and truly sailed.

Elsewhere in his chat with British Vogue to talk about his life in looks, Angels singer Robbie branded Take That’s 1992 music video for Do What U Like the ‘worst video ever to be made’.

However, he added that ‘because it’s the worst video ever to be made, it’s possibly the best video ever to be made’.

‘I am roughly 17, maybe 16. We were given budget to style ourselves. Two things about that video. I was immensely proud that we done a pop promotional video. I also thought, nobody should ever see it,’ he recalled.

‘We were of an era and an age where controversy was a good thing, and also I for one am one of those people that says, you know, if there’s a button and it says “don’t touch”, I’m going to press that button. So with controversy, or raunchy, or too much…you can never have too much. Too much please.’

Looking back at his solo career, Robbie revealed how he spent seven hours getting into his latex outfit for the Rock DJ video, and another two hours getting out.

It may have been a hassle but Robbie used the outfit as an opportunity to play a prank on the public, explaining: ‘I thought the opportunity was too good to not go running down the road in this outfit by myself, just to freak people out in cars.

‘I’d wait behind a hedge and then a car would come and I would run across the road and then jump behind a hedge, just to make people think “what the f**k was that”.’

He also had kind words for his ex-Take That bandmate Gary Barlow, who he said ‘smashed’ the vocals on the group’s single Relight My Fire, and added that he felt he and ‘Gaz’ could have ‘conquered the world’ if they were a double act.

Robbie recently returned to the charts this month with his new album XXV which became his 14th solo chart-topper.

The October issue of British Vogue is on sale now.
