You don’t have to wait any longer to get your hands on the game, as FIFA 23’s release date is almost here.
This year sees the release of the last ever FIFA game by EA and it’s out very soon; in fact, if you bought the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23 you can already start playing it.
If you’ve stuck with the cheaper Standard Edition though it’s not that much longer to wait and you’re not really missing out on anything in terms of extra content.
From the World Cup to women’s leagues, and everything else that’s new in FIFA 23, the Standard Edition has all the same options and features.
What time does FIFA 23 Standard Edition go live?
As confirmed by EA Sports, the official release date for the Standard Edition of FIFA 23 is Friday, September 30.
That release date is global, and FIFA 23 will go live at midnight local time, meaning it will unlock in the UK at exactly 12am BST, across all platforms.
You’ll only need to wait a bit longer if you’ve pre-ordered the game for the EA app for Windows, as the release time is listed as 4am BST. This doesn’t apply to Steam, as the site states FIFA 23 will unlock at approximately midnight.

Like previous releases, FIFA 23’s Standard Edition costs £59.99 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia.
If you’re a next gen console player, you’ll have to pay an extra £10, as the game is priced at £69.99 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S – which is already controversial because it comes with the exact same content.
The Legacy Edition, which is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, will be released at half the price, at £34.99.
Although this is the last FIFA game by EA they’ll be releasing something that will be FIFA 24 in all but name next year, called EA Sports FC. FIFA itself is also planning to start it’s own series of video games, although it’s less clear when that will start.
