Jamie Lee Curtis confirmed she really does throw the rulebook out the window, as she shared a hilarious story on tonight’s The Graham Norton Show.

The Halloween actress was discussing the new film being released with guests Lydia West and David Tennant before she shared a story from the sets of one of her old films.

Thinking that British television allows swear words, unlike American television, Jamie began: ‘First of all, on American television you can’t say that word.’

‘On British television you can’t say that word,’ Graham Norton corrected, referring to David swearing, before adding: ‘Well we’re not live! But I really hope I haven’t given you ideas now.’

‘Talking of swearing, you were in that film My Girl with very young Macaulay Culkin and Anna Chlumsky, so could you swear?’ Graham probed.

‘No no no, you’re not allowed to swear in front of children on movie sets,’ Jamie said.

‘So I had swear jars! You know swear jars, if you said the s-word you had to put in a dollar, if you said the f-word you have to put in two dollars.

‘And you know the whole crew participated because we had kids on the set,’ she continued, adding, as she pointed to Lydia and David: ‘Here you two are, young kids.’

‘Of course, once in a blue moon we’d all swear and put money in the swear jar, you know it all went fine and we all get very tired of it but they were cute and nice kids.

‘The last shot of the movie was this scene where they run down the dock and jump into the lake, and we had like safety people in the lake, and stunt people, and the whole thing, and cranes and things.

‘I’m telling you they jump off a dock into water like two feet deep, and it’s a big thing!

‘And towels and everybody’s like [gasps], and they run and they jump into the thing and they’re fine, and then everybody’s like, Oh yay! and now they’re going to be finished with the movie, and there they are wrapped in their towels, standing at the edge of the dock, and they go ladies and gentlemen, that is a wrap for Macaulay Culkin and Anna Chlumsky and everybody goes like [claps].

‘I took the two cans, and I walked up to each of them, and each of the cans had like 500 bucks in it, £500 pounds, and I walked up to each of the kids and I went, “F**k you!”‘

The audience erupted in hysterics, as Jamie added: ‘Yeah, I’m not proud of it but yeah, don’t invite me over!’

The Graham Norton Show continues at 10.40pm next Friday on BBC One.
