Married At First Sight UK’s Duka Cav revealed he actually knew about Whitney Hughes and Matt Murray’s affair before Gemma Rose found out during an explosive episode.

Whitney and Duka met and married at the altar, but things didn’t kick off to the best start when she brutally revealed to the cameras: ‘I wanted a man who’s a man that’s towering over me, like massive, like a brick house. Compared to a house, maybe he’s a shed.’

Then, while on their honeymoon, Whitney slammed Duka as ‘fake’, accusing him of putting on an ‘act’ and rejecting a replacement wedding ring after she lost hers.

Explosive rows and a rollercoaster ride followed, before newly married couple Matt and Gemma joined the experiment, and Matt and Whitney actually seemed to hit it off.

While their marriages were breaking down, the couple started their own relationship, which all unfolded to Gemma in front of the other couples in a dramatic and explosive episode.

At the time, Gemma and Duka were both showered with support from fans before they chose to leave the experiment, with Gemma saying she was doing it for her ‘dignity’.

But Duka has now revealed he knew about it all before that episode was filmed.

Answering questions on Instagram, Duka shared: ‘Obviously because of how everything was transpiring, I was going to bow out the process that week anyway, regardless of stay or leave, I was going to leave.’

He added that Kwame Badu, who fans may remember as the one who catalysed the truth coming out at the dinner table, as he flagged the irony of Matt consoling Duka when he was ‘stealing’ his wife, had told Whitney to tell Duka ‘the night before.’

‘Once finding out it was very amicable,’ Duka continued.

‘I was very down to Earth, I went ahead and spoke to Matt, and said “Hey listen man, you got to do this the right way and let Gemma know and handle this in the best possible way because there’s going to be a lot of drama around it.’

Discussing how some viewers noticed his calm demeanour during the episode, Duka added in another Instagram story: ‘The writing was on the wall from day one, for me, it wasn’t a shocker, it wasn’t a surprise, I was well aware.

‘For Gemma, she found on the day itself at the dinner table, and that’s what I was really disappointed at with Matt, in how he handled that situation, it could have been dealt with a whole lot better.’

This comes after Duka exclusively told Metro.co.uk that he would have left the experiment as soon as he found out what Whitney had been saying to the cameras on their wedding day.

Duka told us: ‘Had I known at that point in time how she was making fun of my name, not only disrespectful to me, but my background, my culture as well, it’s not about leave or stay or all that, I would’ve left there and then no questions asked.’

He continued: ‘Not to use these heavy words, but the whole thing of body shaming, “Oh his arms need to be bigger,” I’m like, a six foot two man that’s 16 stones, I’m healthier than 99.9% of the public.’

When asked if Whitney had apologised for her behaviour, including those comments and calling him fake repeatedly, Duka confirmed she had not, but added: ‘Sometimes people they know they are wrong, and they still double down in their own behaviour and their own mannerisms and their supposed lack of self-awareness.

‘For me, I don’t need apologies from other people. Everyone can see what’s going on – any logical, intellectual human being.’

Married at First Sight UK continues on Monday at 9pm on E4.
