Strictly Come Dancing star Kaye Adams has revealed she’s already suffered a painful injury in the training room, but remains in high spirits ahead of this week’s second live show.

Last week, the Loose Women panelist took to the dancefloor for the first time with her professional dance partner Kai Widdrington, earning a score of 21 out of a possible 40 for their Tango.

On Saturday night, the duo will be taking on the upbeat Charleston, before the first elimination of the series takes place on Sunday.

In a video posted on Instagram, Kaye was hanging out with fellow Loose Women presenter Nadia Sawalha when she revealed part of her torso had been taped up because of bruising she’d sustained on her ribs.

While the friends went for an outdoor walk, Kaye said: ‘Do you want to see my wounds?’

As she lifted up her top, she added: ‘Prepare yourself if you’ve not had your breakfast.’

Nadia looked shocked at the sight of the tape on Kaye’s tape, exclaiming: ‘Ooh what’s that?!’

Kaye clarified that it wasn’t a huge plaster, but instead taping on her ribs which she needs to wear after her ‘energetic’ rehearsals.

‘It’s because [of a] bruise on my rib because I’ve been too energetic getting thrown around,’ she said.

‘And you’ve been enjoying it!’ Nadia added.

The former EastEnders star remarked that Kaye was ‘obviously totally terrified the first week’ – as the Scottish TV personality chimed in to say that she still feels that way.

‘You’re enjoying it more, aren’t you?’ Nadia asked, to which Kaye replied: ‘I’m enjoying the fear.’

Ahead of last week’s launch, Kaye admitted she was worried about ‘embarrassing’ her family, fretting that her children could end up being ‘bored’ if they join the audience in the studio.

‘If they were in the audience, I’d be thinking “Are they okay, are embarrassed, are they bored, are they hungry?”‘

She then light-heartedly added about her daughters: ‘I make them sound as if they’re children, they’re 20 and nearly 16, but you know what it’s like.’

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
