I’m plus size & was told my skirt was ‘inappropriate’ for work – wearing tight clothes doesn’t make me less professional

A PLUS-SIZE woman has hit back at trolls who said her ruched skirt was “inappropriate” to wear to work.

Fashion blogger Gabbi regularly shares videos of herself getting ready for her job on her TikTok page, and recently posted a clip in which she wore an orange skirt with a cream top.

Gabbi took to TikTok to question why trolls had said this ruched skirt wasn’t “appropriate” to wear to workTikTok/@heregoesgabbi

She wondered whether it was her stomach or her bottom that made the skirt look inappropriateTikTok/@heregoesgabbi

Gabbi insisted that wearing skintight clothes didn’t make her any less professionalTikTok/@heregoesgabbi

The skirt in question was a midi length orange one with ruching at the front and back and a small slit up the front, and prompted one person to comment: “Skirt not appropriate for work.”

Responding to the criticism, Gabbi shared another video as she wrote: “So is it my belly or is it my butt that makes this skirt inappropriate?

“Because I don’t get it.”

She added in the caption for her video: “Wearing skin tight clothes doesn’t make me less professional.”
